31 August 2007

Gek Group, Greek company which business activity includes construction, real estate and energy, will invest 72m Euro in a multi-venue sports and amusement complex in the town of Samokov, a Bulgarian city located 50 km from Sofia and 10 km from ski resort Borovets at an altitude of 950 m.

InvestBulgaria Agency, the local investment promotion authority, has granted a First Class Investor certificate to the Greek company.

The agency said the initial investment target may well be overrun with the Gek project absorbing up to 108m Euro in total.

The Samokov complex will feature hotel, spa, retail center, tennis grounds, swimming pool, amusement park, go-kart track and mini golf course.

The project should improve Samokov's profile as a year-round tourist destination. The complex will employ a staff of 73 upon completion in three years.
