Monarch to launch new flights to Volos
16 January 2009
Leisure carrier Monarch has announced that it will be launching new flights between the UK and Greece's third city, Volos.
The new flights to Volos will depart from London Gatwick and Manchester every Friday between May 15th and October 9th this year, with prices starting at £239 (inclusive of taxes and charges).
”Famed for its fish taverns, which are believed to be some of the best places to eat fresh seafood in the whole of Greece, and home to the country's third largest port, Volos is an upmarket, bustling city on the northern shores of the Pagasitikos Gulf which provides an ideal base for exploring the Pelion Peninsula and the Sporades.", it was said in the press release commenting on the new route.
Monarch flies to a number of destinations across Europe from its bases at Birmingham, London Gatwick, London Luton and Manchester, with cities and holiday resorts in Spain, Portugal and Cyprus being among the most popular.
The airline announced last week that it operated more on-time departures than any other carrier at Manchester Airport during November.
