Tender for construction of Athens’ 4th underground early in 2010

The design work for the construction of the fourth underground line in Athens has almost been completed, the country's Transport minister, Reppa, announced.
The new line will be 21 kilometres long, including 21 stations and will connect the Alsos Beikou - Panepistimio - Katechaki quarters.
The project's costs are expected to total some EUR 2.3 billion. The call for tenders for the project will be announced in the first months of 2010, the minister reported.
